COMPANY. WHY IT WAS CREATED

Saniers is a company based in the electromedical sector. Its objective is in the investigation and search for electronic devices that are able to greatly alleviate the problems of infections caused by pathogens in food and objects that are or have been in contact with contaminated water, especially vegetables, fruits, garden produce and utensils used for babies such as bottles, pacifiers, etc.. It develops highly sophisticated disinfection equipment, which is revolutionary and effective using enriched oxygen, aimed at solving the problems from infections caused by man, which are mainly derived from waterborne diseases.
Its aim is to have its products for the final consumer’s use and enjoyment, agribusiness, and their cooperation in the Clinical Oncology Devices sector.
It develops systems that do not harm health and are environment-friendly, this being considered a benchmark to follow.
It invests a very important part of its resources in the R & D Department to find systems that solve or improve society’s quality of health.
The World Health Organization (WHO), like the prestigious NIEHS Institute, consider that in addition to E. coli, Salmonella Enteritidis, Yersinia enterocoilítica, the Staphylococcus aureus, among others, are associated with infant death through intoxication, the majority transmitted by polluted water, thus reaching food and proliferating therein.
Diarrheal diseases are major causes of morbidity and mortality in countries like the US, and also are considered to be one of the main public health problems in the world.
The Saniers disinfecting equipment has scientifically demonstrated that, in addition to having a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, amongst which we find the aforementioned and many more, against fungi and yeast, viral particles, even against Geobactilus spores, all which cause gastrointestinal and health disorders, is highly effective, ranking even above the requirements set by the AFNOR agency for the activity of antiseptics and disinfectants.
In a domestic environment there is a health and safety problem to ensure the absence of harmful microbes that generate infectious contaminations originating from multiple ailments,

The control of pollution and destruction of toxins in water is extremely difficult, although there are products on the market to treat and disinfect these, they are based on chlorinated compounds, disinfectant chlorine-based tablets (sodium dichloroisocyanurate) which is mainly acidifying, which cause some residual effects with important side effects and foods must subsequently be rinsed with water after their treatment to prevent the many risks involved, and therefore because of this consumers largely discard their use.
Our disinfecting equipment achieves outstanding disinfection using a treatment system based exclusively on cold water, without any additives or chemicals and without dangerously raising the water temperature for this purpose.

PRELIMINARY CONSIDERATIONS

At present, the planet’s gradual and continuous environmental degradation is a very worrying fact and particularly that of contaminated water which irrigates food crops that come to our table, encouraging mass poisoning in the majority of the world’s developed countries.
In early 2007, a diarrhea outbreak of significant magnitude occurred in the EU also caused by E. coli, where this time, spinach and lettuce were the bacteria’s transmission vehicles.
.
The control of pollution and destruction of toxins in water is extremely difficult, although there are products on the market to treat and disinfect, these are based on chlorinated compounds, disinfectant chlorine-based tablets(sodium dichloroisocyanurate) which are mainly acidifying, which cause some residual effects with important side effects and foods must subsequently be rinsed with water after their treatment to prevent the many risks involved, and therefore because of this consumers largely discard their use.
Our disinfecting equipment achieves outstanding disinfection using a treatment system based exclusively on cold water, without any additives or chemicals and without dangerously raising the water temperature for this purpose.

The Saniers equipment uses for this purpose, one of the most effective internationally recognized treatment techniques used in water purification, activated oxygen, which is unusual for it to be applied because of cost.
The Saniers disinfecting equipment has developed and evolved this disinfection technique for it to be used domestically with an optimal effectiveness level, after years of work, validated by the Microbiology Department at the Public University of Navarra, and also being recognized as having the Industrial and Intellectual property rights of our Invention Patent.
Our equipment is able to satisfy a human need, offering the consumer a product that respects the environment, is very evolved yet easy to use, providing an effective response to a large social problem, contributing to improving the health and general well-being.
Every day across the board and according to market demand, many products demanded by consumers revolve around those that offer solutions to problems and benefits related to health and well-being, although at the same time being much more aware of their nature, how they respect the environment, with major technological development and so that this ensures their effectiveness.
The Saniers disinfecting equipment, offers the consumer a technologically advanced, environmentally friendly product, which is very beneficial in preventing poisoning in children and adults, which is highly effective and has no side effects.
You can find only two disinfection systems for bottles and similar items on the market, a chlorine-based chemical one with side effects and contraindications associated with their use thereof, or other systems, based on the considerable rise in water temperature, with the dangers this involves and some of these are very outdated and some are very basic
Saniers offers an alternative to all parents who, every day are more concerned and aware about their children’s health, which can prevent disease and is healthy for their children, with a new, practical, simple, natural, modern system with no side effects and that is very effective. These are all advantages that will make our equipment an important alternative to the target audience’s demand.
The baby bottle related market, hardly has any options for its customers, likewise, the consumer is becoming increasingly reluctant to use products that can somehow harm their children, but finding no alternative to this. Saniers provides the answer they have been waiting for.
With regards to the product market aimed at disinfecting food, this is almost exclusively based on chlorinated chemical products or bleaches, which produce a strong consumer rejection, and are used by very small numbers, which means there is an incredible potential market that is not being met.
With Saniers disinfecting equipment, as well as fulfilling the main purpose of disinfecting the water where foods are immersed, which are mainly fruits and vegetables, they will appear more attractive and healthy, as this is another of the benefits of the disinfection system based on active oxygen.
In both cases where our Saniers disinfecting equipment is applied either for bottles and similar or food, the products to be disinfected are immersed in a container with water inside, where we it can be preprogrammed or used directly for disinfection, given that the equipment has a software system that is easy to use. Here, among many other options offered, is one where we are able to select the application times depending on the item to be disinfected. Here the user, who is increasingly busy and has less time available, can opt for a disinfection that is scheduled in advance, so that the product will be ready at the time he chooses, which is a very important point, as free time is highly valued in today's society.
Our equipment has a system with multiple outputs to project activated oxygen specifically at the product selected to be disinfected, achieving excellent efficiency, finishing the process with a light and audible signal to alert the user of the end of the process, so that the consumer does not have to keep an eye on when the process ends.
The Saniers equipment is the same for disinfecting baby bottles and food, all that changes is the container where they are disinfected, both in their shape and size, so the manufacturing process would be virtually the same for both products, so if the user purchases the equipment, he can benefit from the other disinfection process simply by acquiring the other container, with the benefits associated with the manufacturer and trading company.
Saniers SL, has an international Invention Patent, which currently boasts exclusive marketing rights in Germany, UK, Italy, France, Spain and Turkey, although based on the this, you can market your equipment in all the countries in the world

PROBLEM DETECTION

Water is a natural resource that primarily affects the socio-economic development of people and improves the population’s well-being.
Society’s health improves when people can live in a healthy environment where there are proper hygienic practices, thanks to there being enough drinking water.
Nowadays, the study of biology and bacteriology, are considered of fundamental importance, for it is in these sciences that sanitation and water treatments are based.
Water-borne diseases are a major international problem.
The growth of industry, large scale agricultural-livestock operations and pollution in the world of water, are a growing problem for governments, scientists and the general public, who are increasingly aware of the right to health.
Water may contain many types of bacteria that are dragged through the soil, it may have some types of parasites that are freed into the water through animal waste, due to man’s habit of throwing its own waste, together with industrial and livestock waste into the nearest stream.
Among those thrown into the water, we will also find pathogens that cause diseases in humans, the so-called "water-borne diseases."
Through water, microorganisms can infect a susceptible subject, who ingests contaminated water, which is a direct form of contagion, or by the use of contaminated utensils washed with contaminated water (bottles, teats, etc..), By eating foods that have some form of contaminated water (vegetables irrigated with it), humans can easily get the relevant disease.
Despite efforts undertaken worldwide over 4,000 million people, live in unsanitary conditions resulting from poor water quality.
Similarly, in most developed countries of the world, every day there are more incidents due to contaminated water, from watering crops that arrive at our table, mass poisonings that have devastating results, as unfortunately we know all too well about the high number of outbreaks of diseases caused by water.
As we referred to in the "preliminary considerations" section of the documentation provided, in 2011 there was a new outbreak of infection in northern Europe, found in commonly used vegetables, such as cucumbers, tomatoes or lettuce, attributed to a bacteria that causes havoc in the world's population every year, E. Coli, causing thousands of victims as well as the well-known fatalities.

As occurred in the U.S. in 2007, the E. Coli, bacteria caused a major outbreak, which again was caused from commonly eaten vegetables such as spinach and lettuce, transmission vehicles for the bacteria through contact with contaminated water.
In Spain, there have been over 200 recognized outbreaks over recent years due to this, affecting tens of thousands of people.
These described poisonings are present in most developed countries, and are much more common than people believe, creating a major social concern, always occurring to a greater or lesser extent every year. About five hundred million people around the world suffer each year from enteritis infections, either in an epidemic or endemic form.
The most common pathogens that trigger these infectious outbreaks are, as recognized by official organizations such as WHO, among many others, the bacteria Escherichia coli, Salmonella Enteritidis, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio cholerae.
Water disinfection aims to inactivate or destroy waterborne pathogens, which represent a large group including bacteria, viruses, fungi, molds, spores and their forms of resistance.
The list of water-borne diseases have been expanded to include processes such as typhoid and paratyphoid fever, bacillary dysentery, many enteric and gastroenteric forms, enterovirosis, as well as cholera, hepatitis A, etc.

For these reasons, the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as the HIEHS Institute, think that these diseases are associated with infant death by poisoning, mostly through contaminated water, through food and objects, including those used by children .
As we have already mentioned, diarrheal diseases, besides being a major cause of morbidity and mortality, are also considered by the general population, as one of the most important problems for public health in the world.

APPROACH TO SEARCH FOR SOLUTIONS

All the aforementioned is are a real 21st century problem, which prompted a search for a product which was able to offer a solution to the problem in question, since we did not find any on the market, capable of covering this  real demand that is so important.
This product to be developed, had to provide a significant improvement in health as a whole, as well as being environmentally friendly, helped to improve it.
Controlling pollution and destroying pathogens in water is extremely difficult, which is why a process to study a solution to this problem was started years ago, able to satisfy a large part of consumers, offering an effective and safe system for home use.

At the start of 1999, several companies were contacted regarding disinfecting treatments together with various government agencies to obtain the necessary technical information and determine the systems used in disinfection, as well as their advantages and disadvantages.
As a result of the research process, made possible by many unselfish collaborations from technicians in the matter, we determined that the systems used were limited to the disinfection of objects for baby use (bottles, teats), and were virtually nonexistent in food applications, except for chlorine derivatives, whose consumer acceptance is total rejection, in both cases, and we should consider their health risks, as detailed below.

DISINFECTION PROCEDURES

PHYSICAL:
-HEAT: Perhaps the oldest disinfecting technique, used only on a domestic or industrial scale in an emergency. Disadvantages: alters the taste of the water when removing dissolved gases, particularly CO2.

RADIATION:
-RADIACION ULTRAVIOLETA(UV):
-ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION (UV):
Disadvantages: Among the effects that one must consider are the increased rates of mutation, chromosomal alterations, changes in cell viscosity ...
-IONIZING:
Disadvantages: Today there is no effective or cheap procedure.

CHEMICAL:
-CHLORINE: currently it is predominantly used, both chlorine and its compounds, given its low cost, although, it is giving way to more effective and safe procedures such as ozonation, but being rejected for purifying public water due to its high cost.
Disadvantages: Besides its oxidizing power, it is a substance that reacts strongly with a large number of substances, mainly organic substances, decreasing the concentration needed to carry out the disinfection. When there are proper organic precursors in the water to be treated, a series of undesirable substances appear due to the chlorination, generally made up from chlorinated organic compounds, many of which have proven to be toxic and / or mutagenic to man. These compounds include halomethanes, primarily chloroform, which are carcinogenic for rats and man (stomach, liver, intestine). Likewise a variety of organochlorine compounds are also caused, of which 80% are unknown, which mean a significant risk factor to human health. Furthermore, bad tastes and smells regularly occur.
- OZONE: Nowadays, its use is increasingly recommended because of its benefits compared to chlorine, especially regarding the toxic compounds that may occur in the water after disinfection.
The ozone molecule particles, help us to understand the ozonolysis mechanism, a "TRUE CRACKING" of organic molecules.
The redox potential of ozone is the greatest amongst the possible disinfectants that can be used in drinking water.
With regards to its germicidal activity, it is active against all types of organisms, such as fungi, bacteria, viruses, algae, protozoa, etc..
It would also be the treatment of choice for halogenated hydrocarbons which are mutagenic, like trihalomethanes are present in the water.
Due to its great activity on substances that cause it, phenol oxidase, which if combined with chlorine would produce chlorophenols.
Even though the bactericidal action of ozone on treated water has been known about for a long time (19th century in the Paris region), recent studies on the ozonation mechanisms of bacteria have been shown they act on them quickly as long as the residue is kept for the time needed as a chlorine contrast, although this is a relatively long time, and its ratio is greater than ten.
Organoleptic water conditions such as color, smell and taste are enhanced after treatment, as only an increase in nascent oxygen is seen in the water, improving these characteristics, which are so highly valued by the consumer.
Disadvantages: The high cost of the production systems.

DECIDING ON THE SYSTEM CHOSEN TO BE DEVELOPED AS A PRODUCT-AN OUTSTANDING MARKET OPPORTUNITY

As we can see, ozonation is without a doubt the ideal method for disinfecting objects and food.
While it is recognized internationally as the most effective and appropriate technique to treat water for human consumption, it is also undeniable that costs make its application unfeasible for public, industrial and agricultural livestock water purification.
We considered, given the emerging problem detected, the possibility that it could be the user who, through a system adapted to the consumer, could undertake their own domestic disinfecting, given that on a public level,  the population is not guaranteed to be exempt from this alarming health problem
Its effectiveness, safety, natural way of eliminating pathogens and respect for the environment, make it undoubtedly the best choice as the most suitable of all methods available.
Saniers intends to implement this goal with conviction, in addition to it having a health benefit to the general population.
This device must meet all consumer expectations and demands and be accessible to an acceptable percentage of them.
Saniers, aims to become the industry benchmark, bringing to the market a product that is unique, attractive from all points of view, functional, attractive, effective, and technologically highly developed, backed by the relevant Invention Patents and corresponding Disinfection Certificates.
As noted in the "preliminary considerations" Saniers, can reach consumers with each equipment it markets as an alternative to those on the market, becoming a green project, helping to meet current needs with innovative products, providing improvements to the health of individuals and their environment.
"True ozonation" is nothing more than the use in water treatment, of all ozone action modes, which means not using the ozonation technique as a one-off, but as a long term application process, all it does is simply to ensure the presence in the water of a residual ozone that allows polluting substances we are trying to fight against be eliminated in it.
Disinfection should not be confused with sterilization, which usually rarely achieved, although water disinfection is much more effective, the closer it is to sterilization

CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE DISINFECTING PROTOTYPE

Once we found the best disinfection system for the consumer, we started at the Industrial Design School of Navarra, to develop an equipment that met the expectations for disinfection in domestic use, both for the treatment of baby bottles and teats, as well as for vegetables.
Ozone generation is done artificially by simulating the natural process.
After more than a year of technical and industrial research in different fields related to the prototype we were developing, we presented a model patent for Spain, which we were granted given its technical and technological breakthrough, which gave us priority to present it for the European and PCT, for which we are totally positive we will get considering that it meets the requirements for its approval, (a matter we undertook and which has now been granted). A patent whose number and definition were fully qualified when it was considered to meet the requirements for novelty and inventiveness).
This equipment, in addition to being a real breakthrough in both its technical and technological conception, as well as its functionality, will be constantly evolving until it is launched on the market.

EFFECTIVENESS OF THE EQUIPMENT, A FUNDAMENTAL PART OF THE INVENTION

To carry out the microbiological effectiveness studies and, to complete the research, we hired the services of the Public University of Navarra, using its OTRI (Office of Research Results and Technology Transfer) Department, which facilitates the relationship between researchers, organizations and companies (in the documentation provided, OZZO SANIERS, presentation)
Several years have been spent in developing the equipment to optimize disinfection that we had set out, ie disinfection until almost sterilization.
To test our equipment to the limit, we included numerous strains of bacteria in the antimicrobial spectrum, which can cause gastrointestinal disorders in general health through the oral route.
In the study we included eight microorganisms used to determine bactericides, three fungicides, a sporicide and even a virucide, ie, almost all of the causes of disease outbreaks, both bacteria recognized by WHO as the most active, and other equally important pathogens included in more difficult to remove pathogens, such as viruses, molds, yeasts and mainly endospores, a real problem for commonly used disinfectants.
On September 5 the Director for the Microbiology Department, at the University of Navarra, Professor D. Iñigo Uzcudun stated that:
The SANIERS prototype for ozonation, was highly effective in disinfecting water contaminated with various bacterial species in suspension (Cycle 10 minutes of application), ranking above the requirements set by the AFNOR agency, for antiseptic and disinfectant activity ( AFNOR, Antiseptiques et réglementation).
More than 4 years have been invested in the prototype’s development prototype to achieve these spectacular results,
the result of research, work and important contributions by various technical specialists, some recognized such as the project’s Chief Engineer during the last stage, and now deceased (Daniel Leal-Metamorphosis).
Four years of hard work, during which, we saw the complexity of the ozonation system developed and produced artificially, in which, so as to ensure its effectiveness we depend on many aspects such as voltage, frequency, condensation points, flow, pressure, temperature, speed, dielectric capacity, drive, filtering, and maintaining adequate dissemination, concentration, etc.. etc.., as well as the preservation of all its components, as Ozone’s extraordinary oxidative capacity, is able to disable and disintegrate all kinds of pipes and mechanical, electrical and electronic systems, as well as plastics and other components in its manufacture .
